Keith St. John
Keith was the first Black, openly same-gender loving person to be elected to public office in the US, as an Albany Common Council Alderman.
After graduating law school, he got a job with the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York helping clients with landlord-tenant disputes, Social Security disability, and family court.
After serving as Alderman, she was appointed to the New York State Joint Commission on Public ethics, becoming one of the first Black out LGBTQ+ people appointed to government commissions.
