Nneka’s directorial debut was The Same Difference, which looks into lesbians who discriminate against other lesbians based on gender roles. 

She won an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program for her work on Lizzo’s Watch Out for Big Grrrls. 

In 2021, she directed and produced the documentary The Legend of the Underground, about the Nigerian LGBTQ community and those who have left the country seeking asylum due to the anti-LGBTQ+ laws. 

The National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) is a civil rights organization dedicated to the empowerment of Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and same gender loving (LGBTQ/SGL) people, including people living with HIV/AIDS.
