NBJC is honored to have been chosen as the steward of the Stephen A. Maglott Ubuntu Biography Project. Stephen created Ubuntu to celebrate the legacies and achievements of Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer+, and same gender loving (LGBTQ+/SGL) people, saying that the biographies “illuminate the story of our humanity through shared experiences, familiar hopes, our abundant love, our unique passions, our resilience in the face of challenges, and a common desire for community.”
To welcome the Ubuntu Biography Project to its new home, and in honor of Women’s History Month, we are highlighting the leadership of Black LGBTQ+/SGL women, femmes, and female-identified influencers throughout March.
